I kept coming back to one question after the disaster: how do people here trust the water again? So I followed it, from the sea to the ground, through the people who work with it every day.

I went early to meet the fishermen returning from the waters near the nuclear power station. At around 5 a.m., the harbour was still quiet and empty. I had waited outside, even though it was cold. Then the first boat came in. The ducks slowly moved out of the way.

The captain and his friend were alone. I approached him carefully, not knowing how open he would be. He didn’t say much, but he didn’t turn me away. I stayed close, worked quietly, and photographed as he unloaded, trying not to interrupt his routine. We just spoke a few words.
