In 2015, Iraq was in a state of emergency. Refugee camps overflowed as families sought shelter in ruins, sleeping on concrete floors and huddling around fires. For six months, Dominic Nahr documented the crisis, capturing the lives of those displaced by war.

His images reveal the unseen—the survivors. Those left behind, trapped by ISIS, faced execution, enslavement, or worse. Yazidis, Christians, and other minorities were forced to flee their homes to escape brutality. "It is important that we remember. We can’t let their lives be forgotten," Nahr says.
